SESSION 1: Branding Brilliance

October 26th, 9:00am

Work smarter, not harder. Before you can be successful at Facebook ads, social media sales pitches or even traditional advertising that will cost you lots of money and time, you need a firm foundation: a clear, compelling Brand Strategy. In this session, discover the secrets of effective branding and how following some simple rules will ensure that all of your marketing and sales efforts are more targeted, efficient and effective than your competition. 

Theresa Piasta is the Founder & CEO of Puppy Mama, Inc., a tech start-up and lifestyle brand ​helping ​to ​enhance​ the lives of women dog moms and their pups​ around the world. Before founding Puppy Mama, Theresa was a Vice President at JPMorgan - spending six total years in the Investment Bank and Sales & Trading businesses at two Wall Street banks. Prior to that she served as an Army Captain in a Field Artillery Brigade. She was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for her service. Theresa also attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business Ignite program in 2016.

Maria Ross is a brand strategist, speaker and author who believes cash flow and creativity are not mutually exclusive. She is the creator of Red Slice, a brand consultancy for solopreneurs, startups and small businesses. Maria’s books include Branding Basics for Small Business: How to Create an Irresistible Brand on Any Budget (2nd Edition), and The Juicy Guides for Entrepreneurs, as well as her powerful personal memoir, Rebooting My Brain. Maria is a sought-after business and inspirational keynote speaker and has appeared in numerous media outlets, including MSNBC, ABC News, and Entrepreneur Magazine. She writes for The Huffington Post and Entrepreneur.com. Maria lives with her husband, toddler son and frisky Black Lab in the Bay Area.

SESSION 2: The Power Of Influencers

We all know how important social media is to a brand – but how do you get other people to talk about your product? Influencers can help you reach a larger market, gain visibility for your brand, and even drive sales. In this session, you’ll learn how to find the right influencers for your company, design successful campaigns, and what to do (and not to do!) when working with content creators.

Angie Hilem is a social strategist for people who make an impact and want to heighten their presence online and offline. Through blog posts, workshops, and online courses, she teaches business owners how to be better on social—all while making it fun again. When she’s not thinking of new marketing campaigns, she’s enjoying a cup of black coffee, trying to pet a dog, or exploring a new to her restaurant in SF.

Ida Linden is the Founder & CEO of Lovelyloot, a mobile app designed to help you save all the beauty products you love or want to try. As a communications / PR consultant, Ida has worked with Fortune 500 companies to nonprofit organizations. With Lovelyloot, she’s combined her passion for beauty and technology to build solutions that improve women’s daily lives. Lovelyloot has been featured in Fashionista, Redbook, Women’s Wear Daily, and was the official app partner of the CEW Beauty Insider Awards in 2017.

As Community Manager for Present and Style Blogger @lovechauntie, Chantelle Tankson focuses on people; merging synergies between individuals and organizations. She has a natural talent for connecting people, creating a safe space to inspire and motivate others to achieve more; together. A Virginia native, she earned her B.S. in Marketing from Virginia Commonwealth University. She currently serves the community by developing existing groups that directly benefit women and families and sits on the board of Girls Leading Girls. Chantelle is a self-proclaimed shoe-a-holic and can be found posting about her favorite women owned brands and the next date for Sunday brunch on Present. The most influential woman in her life? Her grandma, who she calls her spirit animal and her rock.
