SESSION 1: Taking the Boardroom and the Stage

In this interactive session with the top leaders of organizations specialized to help women get on boards, you will learn everything you need to know about boards, board seats, preparation and governance. We will also cover what it takes to take the stage in an interactive session with a women who has conquered international stages.

Tylee Potter

Tylee Potter joined Kleiner Perkins in 2018, where she supports strategic hiring efforts for the firm’s portfolio companies, primarily focusing on Product, Engineering and HR.  Additionally she advises on compensation, hyper-growth strategies and organizational structure. Her passion is connecting the right people to innovative startups to propel their business, and advance their diversity objectives, both in their internal team and at the board level.  


Prior to joining KPCB, Tylee spent four years at Uber managing several areas of recruiting as the company grew from 700 to 18,000 employees.  

Elizabeth Andrew DiGaetano

Elizabeth Andrew DiGaetano is a top-producing technology sales executive, who has established herself as a leader, motivator, and role model with her inspiring story of career reentry by breaking barriers into the San Francisco technology space – at over 50 years old, after a 17 year career break. She is currently a Senior Sales Executive at HelloSign. Elizabeth was selected for The CLUB of Silicon Valley’s 2016 Incubator leadership program, and serves as an advisor to Women Serve On Boards. Additionally, she has made contributions to iRelaunch at Stanford University, Dreamforce, UC Berkeley Haas School of Business & Berkeley Law's 'Building Women Up', Lean In Women of the 415, Leading Women in Technology (LWT), The Amplify Lab, and Providing Opportunities for Women (POW). This salon kicks off with a workshop: Navigating Company Power and Politics


As employees rise to higher levels of leadership, they inevitably face the power struggles politics that are legend in companies. Add personal biases, issues of race, gender, disability and a myriad of other perspectives into the mix and this environment becomes even more confusing and nearly impossible to navigate. There are no easy answers but talking about this often hidden and unspoken topic goes a long way towards easing the deep sense of frustration that can be elicited. This interactive session will explore some of the key concepts about navigating company power and politics.

Lori Mazan

After more than two decades coaching public and private company CEO's, Executives and developing leaders, Lori co-founded Sounding Board with her previous Executive Coaching client, Christine Tao. Lybra S. Clemons is a seasoned diversity executive with more than fifteen years of professional experience managing a wide range of cross-cultural projects and strategic plans.  She has an extensive background in building, creating, and implementing results-driven diversity strategic plans for corporations – as well as nonprofits, foundations, and government organizations.   


Currently, Lybra is the Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion for PayPal. She is responsible for managing and overseeing all global diversity initiatives for the company -- including developing a framework and strategy for diversity talent analytics, engagement, and recruitment.  Her work includes extensive engagement with senior leaders to administer and create diversity programs to address the needs of the business for diverse talent. 

SESSION 3: Is Your Voice as Powerful As You Are: Exploring the Psychology of Influential Communication

An experiential event exploring the unconscious ways women give up their power through verbal and non-verbal communication and the "power plays" to make so you can authentically express with confidence and be recognized as the leader you are meant to be in your career and in the world.

Hillary Wicht

Hillary Wicht is a voice expert who has been tapped as a specialist by the Wall Street Journal and the Stanford Entrepreneurial Graduate Program for her work on the impact of gender communication styles in the corporate sector. She is an executive voice coach who works with executives who's current communication styles are undermining their success. Hillary's expertise incorporates the technical elements of voice and body language as it relates to the fundamentals of human psychology and neuroscience to help executives develop a voice and presence for leadership so they can have a voice at the table, maximize their sphere of influence and drive results.
She has a rich background as a session singer for major label artists, a commercial voice over talent and theatre performance with an academic background in behavioral psychology, the psychology of influential communication, and the Somatic sciences.

SESSION 4: The Inner Game of Leadership

October 27th, 2:00pm

People Often Fail In Business Not Because They Don't Have Good Technical Expertise But Because They Fail At The Inner Game Needed To Make It Happen. 

In this interactive workshop, we will learn how our inner game (i.e., our current way of being and thinking) impacts our actions and our capacity for success, particularly in how we lead others.  We will explore in depth two particularly challenging time points for balanced and graceful leadership:  transitioning into new leadership (for the first time or with a new team), and leading through change. During the session, we will learn new possibilities for thinking, seeing, and action to advance our most important goals for ourselves and our teams.

Elizabeth Jeffords

Elizabeth Jeffords is a strategy consultant, angel investor, and global healthcare leader.  Prior to her current consulting work in biotech and maternal health, Elizabeth worked in commercial leadership for Genentech & Roche for 17 years.  Most recently she served as the Vice President of US Ophthalmology in South San Francisco, General Manager and CEO of Roche Norway in Oslo, and Global Head of the Established Products Business Unit in Basel, Switzerland. Throughout her Genentech career she was passionately involved in people and managerial development initiatives. Prior to Genentech, she worked in bench science at Yale and UCSF, as a strategy consultant, and in business development at a software start-up.  She holds a BS in Biology and Management from Yale University and a Masters of Business and Technology as a Fulbright Scholar from the University of New South Wales in Australia. Elizabeth was named the 2009 HBA Genentech Rising Star, and in 2014 was further named one of HBA’s Luminaries. She currently volunteers on the HBA San Francisco Chapter Advisory Board and as an Advisor on the Springboard Life Sciences Council.
